Hooman Talebi
Founder-Director

Hooman Talebi is an architect, designer, and cultural thinker, and the founder of MARZ, a multidisciplinary design studio operating at the intersection of imagination, cultural inquiry, and spatial production. His work explores the role of architecture as both a conceptual and material practice, bridging scales—from object design to master planning—and engaging diverse geographies across the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.
Talebi established MARZ after over a decade of experience as a senior designer in internationally acclaimed studios, including those of Bahram Shirdel, Homa Farjadi, and Zaha Hadid. These collaborations shaped a design approach rooted in experimentation, critical engagement, and global perspective. His final collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects—Phase Two of the Milad Tower project in Tehran—became a catalytic moment in reimagining Iran’s contemporary architectural landscape upon his return.
Educated at the Architectural Association (AA) in London, Talebi maintains a strong presence in architectural education alongside his professional practice. From 2016 to 2019, he was the Academic Director of the Contemporary Architects Association (CAA). He currently leads the undergraduate Spatial and Interior Design (SPIN) programme at the University of Kent and serves as Creative Director of ArchiKID-World, an international platform dedicated to design education for children.
At the heart of Talebi’s work is a commitment to architectural thinking as a mode of research, cultural expression, and speculative design—a space where practice and pedagogy continuously inform one another.
